Recaptured

by Ciaran McDermott

The waves came crashing down on my psyche
No excuse for outlandish behaviour
Searching for the surface
Time to breathe, time to enact
Lest nothing manifests
Taking it back to a strong and resilient earthy silence
Heady days a distant memory
Come to a standstill
Time soldiers on mercilessly, under orders
