In collaboration with the Athlone Library, two Poetry as Commemoration workshops led by writer Gerry Hanberry will take place on

Tuesday 17 October from 6pm-8pm

AND

Tuesday 24 October from 6pm-8pm

During two 2-hour workshops, one week apart, participants will engage with and respond historical documents related to the War of Independence & the Civil War. Afterwards they will be invited to submit their writing to a special Poetry as Commemoration archive which will be housed in UCD Special Collections. Participants who have family stories or materials relating to the revolutionary period are invited to share these, but no family connection is necessary and all are welcome.

Please note that workshops take place across two days and participants should attend both workshops. One ticket allows access to both workshops.
