Writer Nicholas McLachlan leads two Poetry as Commemoration Workshops for Transition Year students at Presentation, Listowel. Using documents, letters, and photographs from the War of Independence and Civil War, students will learn about the experiences of individuals living 100 years ago and use the language and images to write their own commemorative poem. Poems will be submitted and held in UCD Special Collections for future generations to read.
